Story-Making: Reinvent What Is Possible with Betsy Chasse

Clinton Callahan, and Anne-Chloé Destremau

We have a surprise for you!

The surprise is a power woman: Betsy Chasse. She is a Hollywood director, prolific author and speaker. Another job that shows up on her resume is Mom. She directed the classic What the Bleep!#? Do We Know? and worked with Clinton on Leap: The Coaching Movie.

She is a researcher of storymaking and storytelling, especially in the context of propaganda that shape the cultural environment of communities and countries. She invited Clinton and myself to deliver our experience in building new stories and expanding our awareness of the stories we snap it, and how to snap out of them.

This 2-hour rich experiential worktalk took place on March 9, 2025.

Here is the gist --
Stories have been given to you since birth: Time for bed. You have to do your homework. Be nice. Get good grades so you can get a good job... Even bigger stories come soon after: This is a democracy. The economy is in danger. Your vote matters. You should join the military. The news is true...

Since human beings are story-makers, why haven't you learned to extract yourself from propaganda and reinvent your life stories to build a better world?

Here are two hours to gain a meta-view of story-making and practicing telling the stories that make you, and the world around you, brave and kind and healthy and happy.
